Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you for supporting and encouraging our little learners. Each of your children bring a special gift to our classroom, helping to creating a unique and welcoming community. I am so proud of how far they have come since September. Our Christmas Concert was a hit! Please let me know if you have a video of our class performing and if you are willing to share it. If possible, I would like to share it on Twitter for those who were unable to make it to the concert/students extended family and friends. Thank you in advance! In the New Year I will be doing a Word Wall Word (WWW) assessment on the words from October to December. This assessment will help us to better understand which words, vowel/letter sounds, and blends your child needs more time with. Continuing to practice our WWW's and printing simple sentences over the holidays would greatly benefit students. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday season! Warm wishes, Ms. Casey

Christmas Concert:
Please join us this Friday, December 20th at 9:30 AM for our Christmas Concert! We have been working very hard over the past month to create a special performance for you! Thank you for sending in a white shirt and plastic headband. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding our Christmas concert. Primary Christmas Concert (Grades 1-3) - 9:30 AM Junior Christmas Concert (Grades 4-6) - 10:50 AM Advent Mass: Students did a FANTASTIC job leading our Advent Mass. I was very proud of how well they did. Friendly Reminders:
Our Solar System:
Two months ago we read a book about stars. This one book sparked our curiosity and imaginations. Our curiosity sparked meaningful learning that allowed students to understand how their skills (reading, writing, math, science, collaboration) can be used in practical ways. Letters: Last week we wrote letters to the Canadian Armed Forces and to Santa. We talked about how simple actions, such a sending a letter, can make a huge impact in the lives of others. Our letters expressed thanks, well wishes, and hopes for the future. Each student wrote a letter and created a picture to go along with it. Again, students were able to see how learning is used in daily life (reading, writing, art). We need help! We are collecting empty tissue boxes, small cardboard boxes, large pieces of flat cardboard and cardboard tubes. Please send any of these items in over the next week. Thank you in advance! P.S - Don't ask why... it's a secret! Advent Mass: Our class will be reading and singing during St. Anne's Advent Mass on Monday, December 9th at 10:45 AM. Please feel free to join us. Christmas Concert: If possible, please send in a plastic headband (Dollar Store) and I white T-Shirt for your child. Feel free to send these items in as soon as possible. I will keep everyone's belongings separate you will get them back after our concert. However, I will be attaching something to the headbands with hot glue. Please let me know if you have any questions of concerns. Friendly Reminders:
