How is it June already!? It is very hard to believe that we are in our last month of Grade 1... It feels like just yesterday 18 little friends were walking through our classroom doors for the very first time. This last month will be an emotional one knowing that they will soon be leaving for their next learning adventure. I am proud of them. I know that will be successful in accomplishing amazing things throughout their lives. I know that they are capable. I know that they are brave. I know that they are smart. I know that they are kind. And finally, I know that they will play a part in changing our world for the better. ❤
We are about to have a very busy last month! Language: We are continuing to work on creating stories and completing writing prompts. Please check your child's backpack/agenda for samples of their writing. Here is a list of things we are trying to refine:
Math: We have completed our algebra and probability units. We are now moving onto fractions (whole, 1/2, and 1/4). Science: We will be creating habitat dioramas this month! We will be focusing on creating a diorama that represents the habitat of a specific animal and elements within the habitat that the animal requires to live (food, shelter, water, etc.). Friendly Reminders:
On a personal note, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the support and encouragement that you have provided this year. Learning is not a isolated event that only happens in the classroom. It is a complicated web of experiences that results from a community of support and acceptance. You have played a key role in supporting our learning this year. We would not be where we are at today without you. You are amazing, thank you!
